Alternate histories

Alternate histories was inspired by the Wiki Game wherein players navigate from the Wikipedia page of a starting article to the page of a destination article using only the links within the content of each article, the goal being to arrive at the target article in the fewest clicks or the shortest time. Each poem charts a unique path from the page of an ancient technology to the page of an emergent one, complicating notions of linear time and technological/conceptual progression.

A revised version of Alternate histories will appear in my next poetry collection, The Wiki of Babel, forthcoming from the University of Calgary Press in June 2026.
